Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/25/1998

Number: 1

SOURCE: Monarch Watch
Today, March 25th, I saw the first two migrant monarchs. The first was a rather worn male being swept along northward by the strong winds we've been having today (gusts up to 35mph). The second was a worn female who had managed to become trapped inside a garden center's huge greenhouse (no doubt drawn there by the abundant nectar supply). She is now safely in my care where I'm hoping she'll start oviposition tomorrow. For me at least, spring has now "officially" arrived.
