Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/28/1998

Number: 1

SOURCE: Monarch Watch
Looks to be a banner year for the spring migrants in North Texas. Here in Dallas I counted well over 30 today alone. At times there would be three
or four at any given time in a field that I was observing in. Milkweed is just poking up -- as usual, the Asclepias asperula (Anelope-horns) has been up a bit longer than the A. viridis (Green Milkweed) with growth between 2 and 3 inches, as opposed to the tiny shoots of Green Milkweed at little more than 3/4 of an inch.
