I thought I would report the first Monarch I have seen here on the Texas
South Plains - in Lubbock, which is 100 miles south of Amarillo. It was sighted yesterday about 6 PM at an open park around flowering crabapple trees. It was a warm day - upper 60's, barely a breeze.
