Tulips EMERGED

Date: 03/31/1998

Number: 1

We first saw the tulips on Tues.,3/31/98.The weather was sunny and was in the 80s. Today we measured the stems. The tulips are 4-7 cm(.5-2") tall. We do not believe that they all came up.Moles may have eaten them {but we did not see any signs of tunnels).Tthe bulbs may have rotted. Today it snowed but it is warm. It also rained. The`ground had been soggy and muddy. We read The Secret Garden. When the story was done, our red tulips emerged. We could have waited 2 days for the snow to melt but we were impatient and shoveled the snow off of them.We also planted daffodils.
