An update on our tulip garden:
date planted - nov.20,1997 Fortunately, we had long fall with lots of mild weather.
Date emerged - Feb.25,1998
March 30th it was 24.7 C. On Mar.30 The biggest tulip was 14 cm. The smallest was 4 cm. The high on Mar. 31, 1998 was 25 C. The warmest since the last record high of 19 C on that date in 1860. The normal high in our area is 8.5 C. We have observed the first buds on the tulips on March 31. The students report that on Mar. 31 the tallest tulip wasa 18cm and the smallest was 5cm. Most of the tulips are growing in a circle. Some of the biggest are in the middle of the circle.
