Pomme de Terre Lake in Grant County, MN experienced ice-out on Sunday, April 5, 1998. Southeasterly winds pushed large 1/2 inch sheets of ice across its 1,728 acres of surface area. This riverfed lake, up to 25 feet at its deepest point, iced-out a week or two earlier than in recent years.
