Don Anderson of Turtle Lake, Wisconsin, (Barron County) called t report that a pair of loons were chasing each other around on Upper Turtle Lake this morning. This is probably a fight for territory with one loon trying to establish a nest site and chasing the other loon away from it. Don says that today is the first day they have seen loons on the lake, so they probably arrived last night or this morning. The ice has been gone from Upper Turtle Lake since 1 April.
