Robin (First SEEN)

Date: 04/20/1998

Number: 1

I had my first Am. Robin singing in my yard on my way to work on
Monday the 20th. I had another when I got out of the car at work. There
were half a dozen other reports on my machine that eve. It's as if they
came in en masse overnight. Prior to this however I received four seperate
reports in the weeks prior, but hadn't seen any. A few brave Robins stay to
overwinter in the Fairbanks area. Most of these are seen with Bohemian
Waxwing flocks in residential areas with fruiting ornamental trees and
shrubs. It is likely that some of the earlier reports are of birds that
wintered close by.
