Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 04/24/1998

Number: 1

You'll never guess how we got to see our first ruby hummer of the season! It crashed right into our window at school and fell to the ground! The bird was definitely dazed afterwards - it took a full 2 or 3 minutes for it to start flying again, and when it did, it flew in big circles for a few minutes. We were afraid the poor bird had really gotten hurt, but then it flew up over the bulding. What a way to see a first sighting!
