They snuck up on me. Did not see any actually land on butterfly weed. Found the eggs (3/27/98), and today (4/24/98) have the first chrysalis with 45 more caterpillars hanging or ready to. Am very excited. This is the first year I have done this in Texas. Had seen them only in the fall in Wisconsin. Am curious if numbers are higher due to reported die off in Mexico.
