This is the third year we've had a return sighting. The male lets us know it's time to put out the nectar - he sit's in the tree and scolds us until it's there. This is a Bullock's Oriole. We live in a high desert mountain valley, but he and his mate have chosed a wooded area by a canal to nest. They usually come around the 20th of May, but due to our warm weather they have come earlier this year. We haven't had much luck with putting out fruit for them, they seem to just want the nectar!
