Oriole (1st Baltimore)

Date: 04/27/1998

Number: 1

Both Baltimore and Orchard, up to a few years ago, were relatively rare birds there. However, for about 3-4 years now, they
come by the hundreds for the Baltimore ones and quite a few for the
Orchard. This year they were 2-4 weeks early by calendar but about right
for the syamore trees just leafing out. They stay mostly in the Syamores
but often come down to eye level or even on the ground. As you're probably
aware, they're much easier to hear than to see in spite or their brightness.

MD/VA/WVA all meet on the Potomac River near Harper's Ferry, WVA

Weverton, MD
