The first grade at the Fieldston Lower School in the Bronx spotted one robin on Thursday April 23, and two more within the next few days. We have had a lot of construction outside our school which may have delayed the robins' arrival. It was greeted with great excitement after looking for so long. Some class members had seen robins elsewhere, but we waited until everyone saw one at the school. Our first grade studies birds intensively so that all the children are on their way to being expert bird watchers and observers.
