The Toronto Ornithologists' Club had an outing in High Park, Toronto, on Saturday. It was reported that 22 Baltimore orioles flew over and a pair of orchard orioles were found.
High Park is a large urban park. Among their recent projects was to stop cutting one area of the park and have a controlled burn. Low and behold, wild lupine - absent for years - suddenly bloomed. This is the food plant f the endangered Karner blue butterfly.
