The monarch sightings have been rather slow here in southwest
Arkansas this year. We have not found any eggs but did find a
large, healthy larva on some green-flowering milkweed - the
field was full of milkweed but we only found that one larva. It has since found a place to attach its silk pad and is hanging in
the classic J-shape.
The 13 year cycle of Cicadas has made its way back to our
area. We were wondering if there could be any connection between the small monarch migration sightings and the return of the Cicadas?
