Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/15/1998

Number: 1

Source: Monarch Watch

Hello from Colton, New York,
The Monarchs have arrived. A lilac bush in my front yard is covered with
Monarchs at 70 degrees F., May 15,1998, at 6:20 PM.

The Milkweed here is just coming up. We have fields that are no longer
cultivated and the milkweed has taken over. I'm so glad to see the
Monarchs because we didn't have very many last year.

Good luck finding Colton, New York. Hint...about 40 miles south of the
Canadian border, the St. Lawrence River and Eisenhower Locks. Beautiful
foothills of the Adirondack Mountains.

Just so you will know who sent this...I'm a recently retired teacher...
enjoying my first year of retirement.
