Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/18/1998

Number: 1

Source: Monarch Watch

I was out working in our meadow yesterday, 18 May, and seen my first monarch of the year. We had a strong southwest wind and expect it was riding it making a large jump taking advantage of the free ride. It fluttered about for a few minutes and continued it northeast journey. We presently have milkweed three to eight inches high. My location is about one half the way between Detroit, Michigan and Toledo, Ohio in Carleton.
That all the excitement from here for now.
