Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/19/1998

Number: 1

Source: Monarch Watch

Victoria Day/Memorial Day (May 19) was the hottest yet 28.4 C (84
F) I spent my breaks (lots) finding shade and walking the
roadway checking out the young milkweed plants - varying in size
from 3 to 8 inches tall - and hoping to spot a Monarch (but
wishful thinking up here, this early). But, surprise, surprise!
At quitting time at four that afternoon I decided to check out
the milkweed that I had practically run over with my car. Hmmm,
four white specks - sure looked like Monarch eggs.
