Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/31/1998

Number: 1

Source: Monarch Watch

I sighted an orange and black butterfly in my yard for the first time this year, and I think it was a monarch. We have had lots of yellow and black
ones, as well as other varieties, but if the orange and black one wasn't a monarch, I don't know what it is. We have a new butterfly house in our yard, but so far none of the many butterflies do not seem to have noticed it. We are hopeful. The weather has become very cold, and there are frost warnings tonight; we
hope this will do our little friends no harm.
