I am a second grade teacher in New Jersey. My class has been following the migration and many of my students have reported that they have seen Monarchs. I did not report these as they were not accompanied by adult verification. I saw my first one yesterday, finally! Unfortunately, it flew by too quickly for more than just a look to verify that it was a Monarch. I cannot tell you whether it was from this new generation or the old.
