Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/16/1998

Number: 1

Just a quick note to let you know that the first MONARCH sighting in New Brunswick this year was one migrating past Bancroft Point, Grand Manan Island on May 4, probably the earliest-ever report for NB by about ten days. The observer was Brian Dalzell, a GMI resident who knows butterflies very well. The only other sighting that has come to my attention since then was of one seen at Fundy National Park by Denis Doucet on May 16.
