Today, June 14th, I saw my first Monarch of the season. I live in Terre Haute, Indiana. The temperature was about 80 degrees, sunny, pleasant breeze. The Monarch was a female, possibly fairly recently emerged because there was no sign of wear. She nectared at the blooming milkweed but did not attempt to lay eggs.
