Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/16/1998

Number: 1

The 1st sighting for me this year. Where are the Majestic Monarchs.
We were visiting our daughter and the this Monarch appeared in their back yard looking great and flitting around like a butterfly should.
The only other butterfly that I have wittnessed was a yellow winged one with some small black spots on its wings. The butterfly also had little tails on the bottom of its wings, which seemed unusual to me. This butterfly was spotted by me and my wife at the Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota. Is this an unusual butterfly or maybe I have not been very observant.
We still are keeping an eye out for Monarchs in our region and will let you know if we see any.
