This is NOT my first sighting of a monarch, but you offered no other category to choose from. However, there have been VERY FEW monarchs sighted by my students in this area this spring/summer. My ESL classes did not meet during the month of May due to end-of-the-year testing. My students really enjoyed logging in their fall sightings and were very disappointed this spring. But they did enjoy receiving their paper butterflies from Mexico. Participating in the Journey North/Monarch project has been a wonderful experience for all of us.
