Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 07/24/1998

Number: 1

After E-mailing you I realized I was not connected, so I will try again. Finally saw a monarch in this area last night, seems like a very long wait from last fall. I planted a butterfly bush last year and planted flowers and milkweed this spring to attract them. A bird seemed to be chasing it so it didn't stick around very long. I will now try to find some eggs, get the water dish and mudbath ready for them. A womans work is never done. :) I very much enjoy this site and check in quite often for the sightings. I have talked a great deal about the monarchs and have many people interested in the study. I have heard that they have been all around this area but this is the first that I have seen in Lowville. Can't wait for the caterpillers!
