Yesterday evening my own three children and I searched milkweed for almost an hour along the country roadsides for Monarch caterpillars. We were disappointed. However, today while driving in the same area I was encouraged when I did spot two Monarch butterflies. This year seems to be a sharp contrast to last year when the caterpillars were in great abundance. I'm curious if other parts of the country are finding these little creatures to be less plentiful this year also.
