Today we counted 46 Monarch Caterpillars in our butterfly garden. We brought them inside to feed them. So far this fall we have raised 14 Monarchs from caterpillars and released them. The parasities tend to lay their eggs on the caterpillars if left outside. The caterpillars we caught today range from 2nd to fifth instars. We plan to tag and release these as they hatch.
