We saw our first yellow leaves on the ground from our Elm trees. There may be a dozen or so yellow leaves in the tree. This is just the very beginning of what promises to be a beautiful fall. The sweet autumn clematis is in full bloom. It seems to be a favorite of our visiting Monarchs. We've had a break in the very hot weather which has brought the blue jays, purple house finches, cardinals and the rest of the birds in the backyard out of hiding and in to visit the feeders.
