Noted 9 monarchs crossing I-71 from north to south during trip from Columbus to Cincinnati. All seen on Columbus half of trip during sunny warm weather. Halfway down weather was getting cloudier and cooler and none were seen.
Searched for eggs/caterpillars on 9/6/98 at several locations on way back. At Fort Ancient exit found 1 J'd caterpillar on first plant I touched, then nothing on 100+ plants checked. Five other locations between there and Columbus nil.
