Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/10/1998

Number: 1

We are raising eight monarch larvae in our classroom. So far, three have gone into their chrysalid phase and the rest are getting really fat. We will tag our monarchs and release them from our school. There have not been many monarchs flying around our town yet. One of the grade 5 students, Stacey Marquardt lives in Brighton near Presquile Provincial Park. Last night (Wednesday Sept.9) Stacey observed many monarchs roosting in the maple tree in her back yard. We are Eileen Conroy and the 4-5's at St. Peter's with an eastern Ontario monarch update.
