Signs of Fall

Date: 09/10/1998

Number: 1

Today we noticed that the cottonwood leaves are turning yellow and starting to fall. We also noticed that the blackbirds are forming large groups and spending the nights in the trees in town. They leave the trees about the time we leave for school in the morning (about 7:30). Lots of robins can be seen playing in the sprinklers. It was warm for a few days but now it is back to around 90 again. Our school yard grass is brown except where we have been watering our butterfly garden. We're getting ready to measure the sun's shadow on the equinox. We measured it on the longest day of the year and want to see how much it has changed.
