When Mrs. Hawes and Mrs. Groves went to find Monarch larvae where they had gone other years, they found none! Other years at this time have produced 3-6. They saw one adult flying. Perhaps this is related to the smaller numbers of Monarchs being reported in other areas? Or perhaps it has something to do with our very dry summer? Whatever the reason, they were very disappointed!
