We collected 8 caterpillars from a roadside area between Leeper,PA and Marienville, PA on August 28. They "imerged" this week at school. We tagged 7 (4 females and 3 males) with tags from MONARCH WATCH. We released them today at 11:10 A.M. in front of the school. It was sunny and warm. (82 degrees farenheit) We have 40 more caterpillars in chrysalis. They were collected September 4th from the same spot and along the road between Tylersburg and Lickingville, PA. We will let you know how many make it. A fly or wasp larva came out of one already.
