Signs of Fall

Date: 09/13/1998

Number: 1

It has been a fantastic birding weekend in Texas .... probably because of Tropical Storm Frances. After all the flooding,
the wind from Frances turned to the north and blew magnificent numbers of birds through Texas. Altus and I saw over 450 accipiters (mostly imma Mississippi Kites) and 20 buteos (2 were Red-Tailed Hawks and 2 White-Tailed Hawks). Also we saw 5 different kinds of terns and finally .... we found 3 American Avocets.
