Just after work last night (5:42 p.m.), I went outside because I heard some warblers. As I was birdwatching, I noticed a slow but steady stream of monarch butterflys
gliding on north winds, approx. 100 feet above the ground.
For 4 to 5 minutes the monarchs glided by at a rate of about 5-6 monarchs per minute. Temperature was 73F, skies were overcast, winds out of the north @ 10 m.p.h.
