Date: 09/14/1998

Number: 1

Found in the backyard of an ESL (English as a Second Language) student at Jack C. Hays High School. The students in these classes are all from Mexico and are following the progress south of the monarchs with interest because the students have themselves migrated north. The monarch was spotted by Maria Azucena Cabrera and Nancy Saavedra. The ESL students at Hays High School are also making butterflies for the symbolic migration.
