Signs of Fall

Date: 09/17/1998

Number: 1

Between 7:30 p.m. - 7:45 p.m. I sighted about 68 Scissor-tailed Flycatcher birds flying east to settle in a large tree. They flew in pairs, groups of 3-5 and singularly. No wind was blowing. This is the most I have ever seen at one time. The last Friday of Sept., 97 I sighted a similar gathering at the same place (campus of the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, Chickasha.) But the 97 group only had about 13 Scissor-tails. (In the 97 sighting the Monarchs were also gathered on the campus on Bodarc trees) Today there were no Monarchs.
