I was collecting sunflowers for a drawing project (the wildflower variety that grow all over) in an area being developed into new homes and saw quite a number of monarchs (maybe 25) in this not-quite-wild environment. They seemed to be young (no tattered wings) and were very attracted to the sunflowers.
