I viewed 4 monarchs in my yard nectaring from tropical milkweed. I do not know that these butterflies would be considered part of the migration in that I have had a steady population of monarchs in my yard this summer.I have witnessed up to 8 flying in the yard at one time. I have been collecting caterpillars and raising them indoors. I have released 251 monarchs since July 24. Some daily releases have been as small as one and as large as 18 in number. The monarchs are still laying eggs on the milkweed.
