Our habitat area consists of many gardens. Our prairie is in its 4th year and boasts of a diversity of forbs and grasses. We are excited to have rabbits, butterflies, moths, and many insects use it for food and shelter. The butterfly gardens are in their second year and contain New England asters and many perrenials bloom in their season. The herb garden consists of dill, parsley and other herbs provided food for swallowtail larvae and will be expanded next year. The annual garden of sunflowers, tithonia, & zinnia is a new and will include vegetables next year. A fall garden of mums are beginning to bloom. Our newly formed Garden Habitat Club has many ideas to expand our gardens in the future.
