Signs of Fall

UPDATE:
Students have spotted few monarchs in the last 2-3 weeks ( 10 - 15 at most ). It might be the change of weather that's helped. Since September 22nd it has been colder here. It's dipped
below 40 degrees F for the first time on the first day of fall. We have also noticed a change in the angle of the sun. We took measurements and will present them sometime this week.
Beside the locust trees, other trees are now turning color. But the maples and oaks are still green. There are even some trees which are starting to drop leaves ( locusts being one of them ).
My students have also seen geese flying in groups ( the funny thing is that they have all been reported flying NORTH! ). I have personally seen this twice myself. I don't know why that is!
