St. Charles is at the confluence of the Mississippi and the Missouri Rivers. Since becoming aware of the Monarch Migration last fall, I have seen some Monarches this fall flying in the southernly direction. We do not get the masses of Monarch I read about on the Internet. Here is my sighting:
Travelling to church at 9:20 A.M. CDT, I saw a single Monarch travelling south about 4-5 feet off the ground. The weather last week was very cool but starting Friday, September 25-27 it has been very hot for this time of year. It is to cool somewhat next week. I hope to see more as the weather cool again.
