Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/03/1998

Number: 1

I was sitting in my back yard around 6pm. I looked up and saw a butterfly fluttering in a oak tree. It was a monarch. The monarch landed on a leaf and then flew to another oak tree where he landed again(approximately 25 feet above ground level). This
was the last movement that I was able to see. Hope the traveler finds our accomdations acceptable. The temperature was 78 degrees with mostly cloudy skies. Winds were calm. Our weather has been abnormally hot and dry over the past two weeks. It rained over 4 inches earlier today ending our extended dry spell.
Hoping to see many more monarchs.
