Tulips PLANTED

Date: 10/08/1998

Number: 1

Today on a perfect Colorado Fall morning we planted 28 tulips. We planted them in our "little wild place", a butterfly garden we started last year as third graders. This morning we shared our garden with several big bumble bees, a black swallowtail butterfly caterpillar and a shy lizard.

We harvested our giant sunflower seed heads. We tied some to an awning for the birds, scattered some on the ground for the furry critters and flowers next Spring and we will roast and eat the yummy seeds from one.

This is the third year we have planted a Journey North tulip garden near the front door of our school.
