I saw six monarch butterflies feeding from a zinnia bed. Three monarchs were feeding from the same bed. Three were feeding from a bed several hundred feet from the first. There are four zinnia beds in the same area, but I noticed that the butterflies prefer the beds that are in direct sunlight. In this instance, as in each of my previous sightings, I saw the butterflies between 10:00 and 11:00am. Later, between 11:45 am and noon, I saw six individual butterflies in flight. Each butterfly was flying from north to south approximately at eye-level. Two of these butterflies may have been caught in the updraft of a passing car (this during lunch hour traffic.) Again at noon, I saw five monarchs feeding in the above mentioned zinnia beds (the same butterflies?)
