Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/13/1998

Number: 1

Tuesday, October 13, 1998, while taking a break from school and taking a family member to the doctor in Abilene, we took the Grandchildren to the Abilene Zoo. Of course they have wonderful butterfly gardens there and we saw hundreds of Monarch butterflies all over the zoo. They were large, healthy, beautiful visitors feasting on the numerous blooming flowers. My 3 1/2 year old grand daughter was fascinated with the Monarchs. She still remembers the live and the mounted Monarchs from last year. She loves them and so do we! We are beginning to see some Monarchs in Bronte. So far they are not as abundant as last year.
