I was participating in a Journey North Workshop at the Missouri Botantical Garden in St. Louis. We were outside with nets looking for monarchs to tag with tags from University of Kansas at Lawrence. One of our members netted a female monarch among the fir trees. We tagged it and recorded the number, DN170, on the recording sheet and then released it We weren't sure we would see any this late in the season..
