On Sat. Oct. 3 monarchs were seen by the hundreds in and about El Dorado Springs, Cedar County, southwest of Missouri. Also, they were seen in and about the towns of Nevada and Lamar on the same day. The following day (light rain) they were seen in the same areas and as far south as Joplin and Carthage, Missouri. They eventually thinned out as I approached the Missouri-Arkansas line in U.S. Hwy 71.
