Last week was the height of fall colors in northern Wis.
The leaves were late turning but when they finally began turn-
ing color it went quickly.It seemed there was no color in the
woods one day and the next day every tree had turned.On Friday
students in my class saw three robins huddling together near
the bike racks to protect themselves from the cold.On Saturday,
traveling north into Polk county I saw large numbers of geese
landing in a farm field which had standing water from anovernight
rain.We estimated at least 300 geese,perhaps more.
