I have a total of 16 butterfly bushes. We have 7 in the yard and 9 in a field. Last week I plnated 6 A.incarnata (swamp milkweed) dry root plants. They are beginning to come up. I have tropical milkweed that is still growing and blooming. The swamp milkweed and common milkweed plants have turned brown. The butterfly milkweed is still greem but all the blooms are gone. The A.fruticosa is doing well but the Monarchs seem to avoid it for some reason.. Hope to plant more milkweed next spring. We are expecting a light frost tonight.
